David Drover (@DavidDrover1476) had his home in Castlegar firebombed on January 22, 2026. His description;
“On Jan 22, 2026, our home was firebombed. Molotov cocktails were thrown at the front door and into my adult child’s bedroom, beside the room of my disabled child, who spends most of her day there. My family was inside.”
Media reported “The Castlegar Fire Department (CFD) and RCMP were first alerted to reports of a structure fire at 12:45 p.m. According to a police statement, an unknown man allegedly set fire to a red fuel can on the front porch of the residence and threw a Molotov cocktail through the front window. The vehicle is described as white in colour, tinted front windows, SUV or longer type sedan.” Here

Jonathan Yaniv, fall 2025. He/she, 38, attempted to move his belongings including ‘disability’ dog into his mother and aunt’s Senior-Only building. (560 sqft 1 bd condo at the 55+ Residences At Village Square) Cops needed to be called.

The arson was mentioned at least 3 times and was used to justify another delay of 180 days. There was no mortgage redemption plan and the order for sale was granted. Its likely Jonathan Yaniv’s 23 page affidavit wasn’t read at all.

On Saturday, Jan 24 — two days after the firebombing — Jessica Yaniv messaged an associate of David Drover after she posted information that cops were looking for a white SUV. In that message, Yaniv asserted it was a “set-up”, that the white SUV was not her mother’s, and that she personally had an alibi — claiming she was at home calling the RCMP due to stress and anxiety, allegedly at the exact same time the firebombing occurred.
Yaniv/Jessica:
“And the fact I made numerous 911 calls that same time from here and police here saw me at that exact same time.” “Thankfully that keeps me ‘safe’.”
This message was sent two days after the firebombing and volunteers an alibi, unsolicited, tied to the exact time of the attack.
Miriam Yaniv was banned from her own strata for threatening to firebomb it in 2022. On July 31, 2025 Miriam Yaniv assaulted Sharron Brown and uttered death threats to Alison Savenkoff at her senior citizen condo building. She was arrested and charged. Miriam Yaniv has made many death threats and was last in court weeks ago.
The firebomb assailants were Miriam Yaniv and IIana Altmann. They acted on the direction of Jonathan Yaniv/Jessica Simpson with information provided by Danny Keith Martin, whom they were often in contact with.

Top Castlegar cop Monty Taylor ignored a huge number of death threats and intense criminal harassment from Danny Keith Martin over many, many months.

Monty Taylor is a disgrace as a cop, an offense as a human being and is dangerous to the public good.
Jonathan Yaniv threatened this blogger with a lawsuit AND ran to the cops on November 19th claiming criminal harassment. RCMP asshole Benedict.Aquino@rcmp-grc.gc.ca dutifully responded. While Jonathan Yaniv gets instant RCMP stroking for his/her every whim, those subjected to months of criminal threats gets less than nothing from top Castlegar cop Monty Taylor.
