Nearly a decade after he struck a teenager handcuffed to a gurney at Guelph General Hospital, Guelph cop Corey McArthur has been ordered to resign in the next week or be dismissed. A decade of appeals with delays, appeals and hearings. Yet another appeal can be filed if McArthur and his lawyers so choose. This is the same penalty handed down during the first hearing in 2022, which was successfully appealed. His completely unnecessary and brutal elbow strike to the teen caused an injury.
Corey McArthur claimed every excuse in the book for his unprovoked attack on a defenseless and restrained child. A forensic psychiatrist who reviewed Corey McArthur’s record said PTSD is one of the most ‘exaggerated’ illnesses in his profession. The problem for McArthur was that PTSD doesn’t involve violence towards others. His claims were rejected by multiple experts.

One can make book that Corey McArthur will appeal again.
