Forest tent caterpillars eating Alberta

The Evangelical separatists in Alberta have done it now, they brought down an un-Godly plague of forest tent caterpillars. Native to Alberta, once every decade or so their numbers explode.

Huge numbers of the caterpillars are on trees, sidewalks, trails and in natural areas and will remain pooping up the place during May and June.

The caterpillars, and there are plenty of them, are voraciously feeding across the province’s lush areas including Edmonton’s river valley.

Preacher’s son David Parker would tell us what goes in must come out when it comes to Evangelical plagues.

Near the end of June, they transform into tan-coloured, furry moths that go on to lay eggs. Albertans can expect to see many more moths hovering around porch lights until early July, when they perish.
