The Gordie Howe International Bridge is complete, but its opening has been delayed due to unspecified and unknown “outstanding issues”.
In February, Trump demanded in a social media post that Canada hand over at least half ownership of the Gordie Howe Bridge to the U.S. government and accept other unspecified demands. A scheduled ribbon-cutting was cancelled. Canada financed the bridge’s construction. The project was negotiated by Rick Snyder, former Republican governor of Michigan, and work has been underway since 2018 and cost close to $4.4 billion.
One billionaire family controls the bridge that carries 25% of all U.S.–Canada trade.
The good news? There's a brand new public bridge right next door (and Canada paid for the whole thing).
The bad news? Donald Trump won't let it open.

Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Donald Trump is finding that his effort to overhaul the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool in Washington has turned into a perverse tourist attraction and a 2,028 ft metaphor of his many failures.
Trump declared the rehabilitation complete, with an “American flag blue” coating in time for the 250th anniversary of independence on 4 July.
On Monday afternoon a massive algae bloom had turned the pool a puke green with large chunks of paint floating to the surface. It also stank, but that didn’t deter a steady flow of onlookers snapping photos and TV crews doing eyewitness interviews with a background of armed National Guards. Trump claims, without evidence, his pet pool was sabotaged. Others say his $14.7m no bid contract was a fraud.
Its said the pool needs to be drained again, the faulty coating removed and a new one applied. The entire project needs to be redone.

Albino Trump buffalo a big draw
An albino Trump buffalo has been drawing big crowds from across Bangladesh since he arrived at the national zoo last week.
After a video of the pale horned mammal went viral on social media, crowds of people started showing up at the farm outside Dhaka to see for themselves.
Scheduled for Eid al-Adha sacrifice, the albino buffalo was spared after a last-minute government intervention. The nearly 700kg beast had already been sold for ritual slaughter when authorities stepped in.
Despite a massive heat wave, crowds line up to see buffalo Trump.
The buffalo’s former owner said the Trump buffalo was docile/lazy and required constant feeding and upkeep.
