Sukhvinder Kaur Sangha – 108 kg meth = 5.5 years

Sukhvinder Kaur Sangha, 47, a former Punjabi media figure, was sentenced to a bargain basement 5½ years for smuggling 108 kg of meth across the U.S. border in a rental car.

On October 21, 2021 at Pacific Crossing in Surrey, Sangha rolled up claiming to have been at an aunt’s funeral in Washington. Flagged for secondary, she drove away at high speed. CBSA pursued and she was nailed. Four duffel bags containing 108kg of high purity meth in the trunk of her car sealed the deal.

Justice John Gibb-Carsley rejected her claims of coercion. She claimed unknown thugs threatened to kill her son. Texts showed that was bullshit, with calm planning of prior runs. Calling her a “trusted, willing participant,” the judge dismissed her claims of remorse.

Its said Sukhvinder Kaur Sangha was Jatthedaarni. (jathā (‘troop’) and dār (‘keeper of’) Punjabi: ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ)

A Jathedar is a high-ranking leader of a jatha (group) of Sikhs. Jathedars are responsible for ensuring discipline within the Sikh community, making important decisions (Gurmattas), and issuing Hukamnamas. (edicts)

Major league meth importer Sukhvinder Kaur Sangha was responsible for morality in her Sikh circles.

Sangha originally belongs to a family from Nakodar in Jalandhar district, though she was born in Prince George. She built a strong identity in the Punjabi radio and television industry and tried to play that card with the judge.
