Steven Lyons, one of Scotland’s leading gangland figures, has arrived in Spain after losing a bid against his extradition. After his arrest he was initially flown to the Netherlands as Spain does not have an extradition agreement with Indonesia. Last year his brother, Eddie Lyons Jr and associate Ross Monaghan were shot dead in a beach-front bar in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.

Michael Riley, 44, from Liverpool, has been accused by Spanish police of the murders.

Major global player Steven Lyons, 45, leader of the Lyons crime family, was arrested at Bali Airport following his deportation from Qatar. His Spanish Interpol Red Notice was flagged. His arrest comes almost a year after his brother Eddie Lyons Jr, 46, and Ross Monaghan, 43, were murdered on the Costa Del Sol.

Lyons heads an international criminal organization engaged in industrial scale cocaine trafficking and money laundering across Scotland, Spain, and the UAE, with strong ties to the Dubai-based Kinahan cartel. His arrest comes after coordinated raids led to 13 arrests across Scotland and Spain, the seizure of properties and business shares in Türkiye. Lyons was nicked yesterday on the Indonesian island after a wave of arrests in Scotland and Spain.
The Lyons clan has been embroiled in a two-decade violent feud with the rival Daniel group, marked by assassinations and retaliatory attacks spanning the UK and Spain.
