Former investigator for Quebec provincial police (SQ) until spring 2024, Martin Bellavance, 53, was assigned to criminal intelligence. He pleaded guilty to one charge of an indecent act after being caught licking a woman’s boot during a cheerleading competition in Quebec City. The acts occurred on January 28, 2024 while he was still employed by the SQ, but was not on duty. On Feb. 18 2024, Bellavance returned to the convention centre for another cheerleading competition. The same witness was present and saw Bellavance go under the bleachers again. A coach intervened, and Bellavance left.
The witness followed and photographed him for identification purposes.
