Cop Harinder Sohi demoted for Sikh protest

Sergeant & former Peel media officer Harinder Sohi, who took part in a violent protest outside a Hindu temple in November 2024, was demoted for 6 months.

Video footage circulating on social media showed Khalistani protestors punching and using flagpoles as weapons against Hindu worshippers November 3, 2024. Sohi appeared in video footage, joining in when a protest leader shouts, “Who’s the terrorist?”

“Indian Government,” jeers the crowd.

Sohi learned of the protest via a ‘Sikhs for Justice’ WhatsApp group and says he was ‘radicalized by Trudeau’s accusations against India’.

The report on the disciplinary hearing on Sgt. Harinder Sohi is full of misrepresentations and outright lies. Sohi said he thought he was attending a “peaceful protest”. Sohi joined in the violent Khalistani leader of SFJ, Inderjit Singh Gosal, beating the protesters. Gosal was charged with assault with a weapon. He was later charged for weapons.

Sohi lied and said he was a victim of assault by an unarmed young Hindu protester holding an Indian flag. His 3rd lie is that complaints against him were manipulated by the Indian Government. Hindus leaders met with cops immediately after the incident to demand an investigation into police misconduct and mishandling of the protest.
