Rajvinder Grewal is a former Liberal MP who represented the riding of Brampton East from 2015 to 2019. |
He resigned in 2018 after a police investigation into his extensive gambling debts. Grewal gambled millions between 2015 and 2018. In September 2020, Grewal was charged by the RCMP with four counts of breach of trust and one count of fraud over $5,000. The RCMP alleged that Grewal received over $6 million in personal loans that he neglected to report to the Ethics Commissioner, which constitutes a criminal breach of trust.

Cops said that Grewal misused his constituency office budget for personal use and solicited loans that personally benefited him. In March 2023, the last charges against Grewal were dismissed by the Ontario Superior Court.
In February 2024, Grewal sued the RCMP and the Ontario attorney general for $50 million.

In April 2025 Brampton’s election finance committee launched a legal case against Rajvinder Grewal for contributing $900 over the limit for municipal campaign donations he made to Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish’s byelection campaign. “I’m a former MP, a lawyer, I understand the law,” he spewed. A donor found to have violated contribution rules could face a a fine as high as $25,000 or up six months in jail.
