Vancouver-based miner WestKam Gold Corp. (WKG.v) and CEO Peter Laipnieks have been penalized for major, deliberate environmental violations at the Bonaparte gold mine near Kamloops, B.C.

B.C.’s Ministry of Environment and Parks handed WestKam Gold Corp. more than $222,000 in fines for major environmental violations after it buried a variety of garbage at its Bonaparte gold mine. The reprobates illegally buried their garbage across a 470-square-metre area three times in July and August 2025. The director of the Environmental Management Act determined in her Dec. 1 ruling that the violations were both ‘major’ and highly deliberate.

Inspectors documented partially buried appliances, scrap metal and plastics, insulation and Styrofoam, computer chips, clothing, electrical wires, tires, a portable toilet and oil containers.

Asshole ultimately responsible is Peter Laipnieks. (westkam007@gmail.com) He also serves as CEO & Director for Aion Mining Corp. |
Laipnieks touts his crooked background in mining management, finance, and government, ‘holding leadership roles at various exploration companies and previously with the B.C. government’. He’s been involved with Spirit Exploration Inc. Laipnieks had previously told the ministry his company had given up its mining permit after active mining stopped in 2018. That was bullshit. Records show the company has not sought to cancel the permit, meaning it is still active. This was probably so that worthless paper could be sold to the public.
Laipnieks’ WestKam avoided at least $111,100 in costs by breaching environmental laws. The company requested an opportunity to be heard on Sept. 25, 2025, but failed to submit the documents within the 30-day limit. WestKam has 30 days to file an appeal. WestKam is a $.06 VSE PoS.
