Jashanpreet Singh – illegal Punjabi kills 3


A semi-truck crash involving 8 vehicles on California’s 10 Freeway in Ontario left 3 people dead and four others injured. Driver Jashanpreet Singh, 21 of Yuba City was speeding and high and never hit the brakes before impact. Singh was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after his semi-truck slammed into traffic on the I-10 in San Bernardino County. He was high on meth. After he was arrested it was discovered he was in the U.S. illegally. Singh illegally entered the US in 2022. He worked for Sandhu Transport. There are a multitude of ‘Sandus’ operating in California.

The logo on the truck that investigators say Singh was behind the wheel of is connected to “Mathaun Trans“. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s website lists it as a broker with a Sacramento address of 3723 Poppy Hill Way. (team@mathauntrans.com) (916) 692-8477

Singh remained in the US without lawful status, and ICE filed an immigration detainer following his arrest. He was held with no bail due to “flight risk.”

He was arraigned on all charges at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse on Friday, Oct. 24. He pleaded not guilty after being assigned a public defender.

This is the second high-profile, fatal trucking accident in the US involving a Punjabi truck driver in America with no immigration staus.

Reports suggest Jashanpreet Singh was from Purana Shala village in Gurdaspur district, Punjab. According to his family and villagers, Jaspreet Singh is an Amritdhari (Baptized) Sikh and served as a ‘Panj Pyara’. Panj Pyare are central figures in Sikhism. In modern times, the term refers to a group of five initiated (Amritdhari) Sikhs who perform specific duties or make decisions for Sikhs.
