Damion Ryan was found guilty Monday on three counts of conspiracy to traffic in drugs, and one count each of conspiracy to possess proceeds of crime and conspiracy in benefit of a criminal organization. Ryan was arrested in 2022 and was refused bail. He will be going away for an extended period.
The case against HA Damion Ryan is so strong that he must be found guilty Crown prosecutors said at the close of the trial. “It all ties together and all shows only one thing — that these individuals were in a committed ongoing conspiracy to traffic…” Copious recorded calls, audio from in-person meetings and messages from encrypted apps were presented. Drugs were given nicknames — cocaine is ‘white’ or ‘girls,’ meth is ‘winds’ or ‘windows,’ fentanyl was ‘pants’. Cops called Ryan a member of the Wolfpack gang and “likely one of the most prolific organized crime members in Canada” after he and nearly 20 others were arrested in connection with Project Divergent. Drug-dealer turned rat, dubbed Agent 66, helped RCMP lasso Ryan. Agent 66 was paid about $1m by RCMP. He remains in witness protection and had heavily armed cops in court when he testified.

Damion Ryan is finally on trial in connection with an interprovincial bust that led to 20 arrests and $70m in drugs in Manitoba in 2022. The judge-only trial has hit numerous delays. Ryan had five different lawyers, most of whom he fired. Ryan asked for another adjournment to review prosecutors’ evidence because he was now self representing. The judge wasn’t buying it. “I am not coming to the conclusion that you are gaming the system … to delay this matter, but it does have that fragrance to it at this particular moment.” Prosectors say “Agent 66,” a former drug dealer who became an RCMP informant will sink the notorious HA Ryan.

Ryan was indicted in the U.S. on murder conspiracy. Damion Ryan with Naji Sharifi Zindashti and Adam Richard Pearson plotted to kill an Iranian in Maryland in an Iran regime sponsored hit. Zindashti messenged Ryan on the hacked SkyECC. Price for the hit was $350k plus $20k in expenses.
Heroin kingpin Zindashti resides in Iran. Cops found 12 illegal handguns, high-capacity magazines, and ammo in Feb 2022 when they busted Ryan.
