\nOn Sunday Ecuador extradited Adolfo Mac\u00edas Villamar – ‘Fito’ to the United States. This marks the first time an Ecuadorian has been extradited to the U.S. directly from Ecuador. Cops in Ecuador recaptured the country’s most wanted fugitive 6 weeks ago. Villamar was tracked down to an underground bunker below a luxury home in the city of Manta. The bunker was fitted out with air conditioning, a bed, a fan and a fridge. Fito escaped from La Regional prison in Guayaquil in January 2024 with the help of at least two guards. He won’t be escaping from U.S. custody.
