Trump said he is considering changing the name of Lake Ontario to \u201cLake America\u201d amid the ongoing trade dispute between the U.S. and Canada. Trump made the comment in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday morning.

\n\u201cThe United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America in that we don\u2019t expect to doing much business with Ontario any longer,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cThank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U.S. president\u2019s post comes less than 24 hours after he threatened to tack on more tariffs in the New Year, prompting Premier Doug Ford to tell him to kiss his ass. In a post on Monday, Trump vowed to increase tariffs to 50% on all Canadian cars, trucks, automotive parts, and steel on New Year\u2019s Day.

\nConfronted with the news during a radio interview on Monday morning, Ontario Premier Doug Ford responded, \u201cHe can kiss my ass as far as I\u2019m concerned.\u201d Trump proceeded to launch a personal attack against Ford, referring to him as \u201cthe less charismatic, intelligent, and overall unimpressive brother of the late, great, Rob Ford.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at a news conference in Hamilton later in the day, Ford continued to lash out at Trump, calling him a \u201closer,\u201d \u201ca bully,\u201d and the \u201cking of bankruptcies.\u201d \u201cWe\u2019re going to fight with everything we have and, you know something, I have more courage, more brains in my baby toe than he has in his whole body,\u201d Ford said of Trump.<\/p>\n
