Nemesio \u201cEl Mencho\u201d Oseguera Cervantes, the head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and one of the world\u2019s most-wanted traffickers, died following a Mexican military operation. Oseguera was an elusive figure who had been considered Mexico\u2019s most powerful cartel boss since Sinaloa kingpin Joaqu\u00edn \u201cEl Chapo\u201d Guzm\u00e1n was arrested last decade.

\nOseguera Cervantes was wounded in the operation to capture him Sunday in Tapalpa, Jalisco about a two-hour drive southwest of Guadalajara and he died while being flown to Mexico City. Troops came under fire and killed four at the location.<\/p>\n

Three more people, including Oseguera Cervantes, were wounded and later died. Two others were arrested and armoured vehicles, rocket launchers and other arms were seized. Three members of the armed forces were wounded.
