Speaking publicly about the harassment campaign<\/a> of David Wallace for the first time, former AHS chief Athana Mentzelopoulos said Wallace has repeatedly attacked her reputation, called her \u201cdisgusting names\u201d and said people \u201cwere coming to my house.\u201d Mentzelopoulos told The Globe and Mail she was disturbed that the Premier had previously used a talking point featured on Wallace\u2019s podcast. Wallace has referred to Mentzelopoulos as a \u201ccriminal\u201d and called her \u201cbloody-hands Mentzelopoulos.\u201d

Bennett Jones LLP is the Calgary-based law firm hired to defend the Alberta government against Ms. Mentzelopoulos\u2019s claims. Munaf Mohamed, a partner at Bennett Jones, has appeared in court on behalf of the government to argue motions, including the 2025 effort to prevent Mentzelopoulos from using confidential emails. Neuman Thompson, a labor and employment law firm represents Alberta Health Services. (AHS) Lead counsels for AHS include Craig W. Neuman, and Chantel T. Kassongo.<\/p>\n

There is a remarkable reference in the Mentzelopoulos Statement of Claim (embedded) and its about the Twitter account ‘Hansard the cat’. Laughably critical of the UCP and Premier Danielle Smith, the allegation is the UCP hired private investigators to find out the identity of the person behind ‘Hansard the cat’. The account was last used in July 2025. Here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

26. Later during the summer, Marshall Smith again spoke to Mentzelopoulos, this time about another twitter feed called \u201cHansard the Cat\u201d that was apparently critical of the Government. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

27. It was during this conversation that Smith told Mentzelopoulos about \u201cSam\u201d, who was apparently taking legal action to force disclosure of the identity of \u201cHansard the Cat\u201d. Smith told Mentzelopoulos that he \u201cwould be taken care of for the rest of his life\u201d, somehow in relation to \u201cSam\u201d.
