Gangster Conor D’Monte pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kill his Red Scorpion rivals \u2014 Jonathan, Jarrod and Jamie Bacon more than 15 years ago. A first-degree murder charge that he faced for the 2009 slaying of Scorpion Kevin LeClair is expected to be stayed after his sentencing, which hasn’t been scheduled. A plea agreement is expected to call for a 15-year sentence less credit for pretrial custody. D\u2019Monte was charged in January 2011 but fled the country and remained a fugitive until his arrest in a suburb of San Juan, Puerto Rico, in February 2022. <\/p>\n
D’Monte dropped his extradition appeal and the years of dead time involved. \u201cI left Canada 13 years ago not to avoid trial and run from this allegation but to escape certain threats, putting the lives of my young children and family in extreme danger,\u201d D\u2019Monte said. Riiiiight.

Conor D\u2019Monte, after finally being ordered deported from Puerto Rico, launched an appeal. A curious decision because ALL<\/b> his time is ‘dead time’. (Jail time is not subtracted from his eventual sentence in Canada.) D\u2019Monte, 45, was busted in Puerto Rico on charges of murder and conspiracy. The extradition package provided by the Canadian government highlighted much evidence implicating D\u2019Monte, including DNA, surveillance videos and photographs, and witness statements from former associates turned rat. D\u2019Monte hit the daily double as both a \u201cflight risk and a danger to the community\u201d and was caged for the duration.

\nWhen D\u2019Monte was arrested in a suburb of San Juan on Feb. 25, 2022 he had a gun on him. D\u2019Monte lived in Puerto Rico for six years, posing as Johnny Williams. <\/p>\n
\nD\u2019Monte was picked up after a routine traffic stop on the outskirts of San Juan. He had a $100k reward posted on his head by CFSEU-BC in 2019. In 2008 and 2009 B.C.’s Lower Mainland was in the midst of some of the worst gang violence in its history. The two main rivals, the Red Scorpions and United Nations gang, were at war and people were being killed.
